Normas de convivencia en el sendero

Trail etiquette helps people share paths, rest areas, and camps without conflict or unnecessary impact on nature.

Meeting and Passing

Wait at a stable, wider part of the trail rather than stepping onto a fragile edge or steep slope. Before overtaking, ask to pass and wait for a safe place. A sudden call from behind can startle someone carrying a heavy pack. Allow extra room and time for children, riders, cyclists, and groups, and follow local right-of-way signs.

Rest Without Blocking the Route

Choose a dry, stable place away from the walking line. Keep packs, poles, and straps together so nobody has to step over them, and leave junction signs visible. At a water source, fill your containers first, then move aside to filter water or eat. Wash dishes or footwear only where local rules allow it and away from drinking water.

Shared Camps and Personal Space

Before pitching a tent, check that it will not block a path, cooking area, or access to water. Greet your neighbors and coordinate shared space. Keep voices low at night, leave speakers at home, and pack most early-morning gear before sleeping. Never enter another tent or borrow equipment without permission.

Photos and Help

Ask before taking a close-up photo and again before publishing it; permission to be photographed is not permission to post. Avoid sharing exact locations of sensitive natural sites. If someone appears lost, offer specific help, such as checking a map, but allow them to decline. Address small conflicts early with a calm, direct request.

Respect the Place

Carry out all rubbish, stay on established trails, use existing campsites, and follow fire restrictions. Do not break branches for a fire. If you are bringing a dog, plan how you will manage it around other hikers and camps. Learn the protected area’s rules before visiting so the next person finds the place in the same condition.
